Turn Analysis Loeser's Perspective Loeser's hand is a pure check again. He can start betting his 9x hands that checked the flop as well as QQ and 99, which have slow-played until this point.

If we remove the high-low suited hands from Riess' preflop range, Loeser no longer bets 9x on the turn. Riess' hand can, again, go either way. His overall range gets to bet small at a fairly high frequency, including with all value hands apart from a few traps.

His checking range consists of Ace-high, king-high, queen-high, and weaker pairs as well as some extremely weak hands. If we remove the high-low suited hands from Riess' preflop range, his check back range becomes his lowest pairs 8x and and a bunch of draws T4o-T2o, 76oo, 65o.

You can see that PioSolver sim here. River Analysis Rather than dividing this section by perspective, we're going to divide it by Riess' potential preflop ranges.

This is the more realistic preflop range, in my opinion. Loeser gets to shove with a decent portion of his range, including all 9x and some bluffs.

Loeser's specific hand is not bluffed by the solver, though that doesn't mean his shove is incorrect as he may build his ranges differently than the solver does.

If Loeser shoves every single hand that plays the board, he will be over-bluffing in this spot. Riess can exploit this by over-calling, including with some hands that play the board.

If Riess over-folds versus the shove, however, it is Loeser who is doing the exploiting by shoving everything. Riess' solver-suggested response versus the shove is to call with all hands that don't play the board, including his actual hand, plus some hands with good blockers that do play the board 8x, 77, etc.

Let's put the solver away for a moment and prove this is a profitable call for Riess with an old-fashioned equity calculation.

We'll estimate that Loeser's value shoving range on the river includes his 9x 94oo and AA, and his bluffing range will include the combinations of 62oo that don't contain a diamond he may have bet the diamond combinations on an earlier street.

Note that this is a conservative estimate of his bluffing range. Now, let's see if Riess' ten-high is still a call when his range includes those high card-low card suited hands A2s, K3s, Q4s, etc we talked about in the preflop section.

But why? Large portions of each players' range are playing the board on this river, but it's Riess who has significantly more hands that aren't.

As a result, the solver suggests Loeser check all of his hands while Riess gets to bluff everything when checked to on the river. If Loeser does shove, Riess still gets to call with ten-high despite the many better hands in his range on the river.

In other words, even when Riess has a bunch of unlikely queen, king, and ace-highs shoehorned into his range, ten-high is still a clear call.

And something that really surprised me: some hands that play the board are still calls as well! Again, the preflop ranges for each player in this rare spot are very unclear and will deviate greatly from player to player.

Considering the two types of ranges we used in our analysis above, we can conclude ten-high should be called versus this overbet shove on the river.

Preflop Analysis. Traps: AA These hands benefit from limping because they don't accomplish much by shoving. These hands don't benefit much from equity denial and want to give Loeser's weak hands the chance to catch a piece.

Offsuit trash 32o, 85o, 53o, etc. These hands are happy to take a free flop and they block Loeser's limp-folding range, making it slightly more likely he's trapping.

Here's a visual representation of that part of the hand grid: These hands benefit from checking because they dominate Loeser's limp-folding range and will realize equity well.

Now, let's move on to the flop. Flop Analysis. Loeser's Perspective Loeser's hand is a pure check on this flop according to PioSolver with the ranges from the preflop section as the input.

He can check with weak pairs, some traps, and some very low equity hands like his actual hand. Riess' Perspective Riess' hand can go either way on the flop it's a mixed frequency bet according to PioSolver.
